Boat Maintenance Technician

Le Boat, part of the Travelopia group and a provider of self-drive boating holidays, is looking for a Boat Maintenance Technician at its Carrick-on-Shannon base in County Leitrim, Ireland. The job involves keeping the hire fleet in top condition and preparing the boatyard for each season.

The role:

• Maintain the fleet to a high standard for reliability and customer satisfaction
• Make sure boats are in excellent condition for presentation
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules
• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs on 36 and 45ft fibreglass boats, including pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane and hydraulic connections
• Install electrical and mechanical equipment and carry out small fibreglass repairs (training provided)
• Help with receiving boats, hauling and launching, commissioning, de-commissioning and gas dock operations
• Work with the Head Tech and Base Manager to prioritise tasks
• Travel to off-site locations for emergency repairs when needed

• Technical studies or hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps, or HVAC repair and general maintenance
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills
• Ability to interpret specifications and installation instructions
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Valid driving licence
• Fluent English
• Full eligibility to work in Ireland
• Advantageous: previous boat maintenance experience, knowledge of marine diesels and systems, passion for boating
