Flotilla Skipper

Island Sailing is a British yacht charter and flotilla company with a base at Lefkas marina in the Ionian Islands, Greece. It is looking for flotilla skippers for its key flotilla season, which runs from the start of July until mid-September. The skipper works alongside an experienced First Mate/Host to lead a flotilla of new yachts around the Ionian.

The role:

• Lead the flotilla and look after guests throughout each charter
• Give daily briefings and share knowledge of the local area
• Answer sailing questions and advise customers on safety, yacht systems and equipment
• Make sure all yachts are moored safely at the end of each day
• Carry out routine yacht service checks and basic servicing
• Arrange dinner reservations and social events such as beach BBQs, mini races and regattas
• Support the team at base

• Pay of £1,000–£1,300 per month, depending on experience

• RYA or IYT Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate of Competence or higher
• Commercial Endorsement
• VHF operator's licence
• Valid First Aid certificate
• Basic Sea Survival
• ENG 1 or ML5
• Working knowledge of routine yacht maintenance
• Competent swimmer
• Good communication and excellent customer service skills
• Fluent English
• Reliable, flexible and highly motivated team member
• Willing to work weekends and evenings on a rotational basis
• At least 18 years old and holding an EU passport
