(Junior) Project Manager

Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam is part of the Damen Shiprepair and Conversion Group and repairs a wide range of vessels up to 250 metres at its yard in Amsterdam Noord. It is looking for a (Junior) Project Manager to prepare and plan repair and conversion work on ships, working closely with the project team, customers and subcontractors.

The role:

• Prepare, deliver and complete assigned ship repair and conversion projects
• Define the work for each order based on the assignment and budget
• Draw up project and detailed plans with internal and external parties, and adjust them as circumstances change
• Spend time on board the vessel, discussing progress with the foremen
• Order materials on time from drawings and specifications
• Monitor quality standards, deadlines and budgets
• Keep the customer informed of project progress
• Help prepare invoices and post-calculations

• Completed HBO or MBO education in shipbuilding or MAROF
• At least 2 years of experience in project management or the maritime industry
• Demonstrable affinity with ship repair
• Good planning and teamwork skills, and the ability to act quickly
• Customer focus and commercial awareness
• Good communication skills in English and Dutch
