Service Monteur Scheepsmotoren

Damen Schelde Marine Services maintains, repairs and overhauls medium- and slow-speed marine diesel engines. This role is based in Vlissingen, serving ships in Vlissingen and Antwerpen, with workshops in Bergen op Zoom and 's-Gravendeel. You will work on engines from several manufacturers, split between the workshop and on board vessels in the Netherlands, Belgium and elsewhere in Europe.

The role:

• Carry out maintenance and inspections on marine diesel engines
• Dismantle, inspect and reassemble engines and engine components
• Carry out repairs and complete overhauls
• Take measurements and record technical findings
• Analyse and resolve faults
• Work on engines of different makes and manufacturers, in the workshop and on board
• Advise customers on technical solutions and maintenance needed, and write service reports
• Work to safety and quality standards

• Technical education at MBO level 3 or 4 (e.g. mechanical engineering, automotive, mobile equipment or marine engineering)
• Proven experience with diesel engines, marine engines or heavy mechanical installations
• Experience in maintenance, repair, overhaul and fault analysis
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to travel for service and overhaul projects, and flexibility when needed
• Good Dutch and preferably English
• Category B driving licence
• Experience with medium- or slow-speed marine diesel engines is a strong advantage
