Marine Service Writer

Pocket Yacht Company is a marine service and repair facility in Chester, Maryland. It is looking for a full-time Marine Service Writer to act as the link between customers and the service department, managing service requests and keeping customers informed through the repair process.

The role:

• Act as the first point of contact for customers needing boat repair, maintenance or marine equipment service
• Create detailed work orders and service estimates from customer concerns and technician recommendations
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow between customers and marine technicians
• Communicate repair status, timelines and costs clearly and professionally
• Process warranty claims and handle vendor communications
• Keep accurate records of service history, parts orders and billing in service management software
• Follow marine industry standards and company policies

• Previous experience as a marine service writer, automotive service advisor or similar role preferred
• Familiarity with boats, marine engines and related systems is a strong plus
• Excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills
• Proficiency with computers and service management software
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in marine systems is a bonus
