Boat Builder

Oyster builds luxury bluewater cruising yachts and is hiring internal and external boat builders at its sites in Southampton and Wroxham to meet growing demand. Roles range from junior level to highly experienced.

The role:

• Read and interpret drawings
• External work: steering systems, keel and skin fittings, deck gear and teak decking, windows, portlights and hatches, propulsion and shaft fitting, and some laminating
• Internal work: fitting boat furniture, ply bulkheads, cabin soles, bearers and doors, and cladding bulkheads with veneered ply
• Fit various fibreglass components and carry out some basic upholstery or vinyl work
• Meet deadlines so each yacht is completed on schedule

• Relevant C&G qualifications
• Ideally at least two years' marine industry experience working with timber or GRP boats
• Keen eye for precision, quality and attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a multi-skilled team
