Facilities and Despatch Manager

The Royal Yachting Association is the national governing body for recreational, competitive and professional boating, based in Hamble near Southampton. It is looking for an experienced Facilities and Despatch Manager to oversee its facilities and despatch operations across several sites. The post is full-time at 35 hours per week.

The role:

• Maintain the fabric and grounds of RYA House, Compass House and RYA Portland House, planning routine maintenance and overseeing cleanliness standards
• Manage warehousing of sales inventory and lead the team despatching sales orders within two working days of receipt
• Oversee all logistics for items despatched by the RYA, including third-party relationships and regular review of arrangements
• Lead staff and contractors managing RYA Portland House, a 24-bedroom facility in Portland, Dorset
• Resolve equipment failures and negotiate and review maintenance contracts with external suppliers
• Keep health and safety practices, risk assessments and building security up to standard, including out-of-hours alarm call-outs

• At least 3 years' experience in purchasing, stock control, health and safety at work, or facilities management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organised, able to manage a varied workload effectively
• Confident using Microsoft Office
